Kid Cudi walked out of the Rolling Loud Miami stage on Friday night, after several fans in attendance continued to scream ‘boo’ and kept throwing items at him. Cudi was named as Kanye’s replacement after the Chicago-native rapper pulled out of his scheduled gig. This left many fans disappointed. The showrunners of the festival have now issued a statement after Cudi abruptly ended his performance last night.
Rolling Loud’s Twitter account published a tweet on Saturday in support of Cudi. The statement urged fans to be respectful to one another as well as the performers.
Rolling Loud is a family. Our fans, the artists, and everyone involved need to look out for each other. Share the love and be respectful to everyone. We love you, Cudi. Please take care of each other and let’s have an amazing day 2!
In a clip that went viral on social media, Cudi is seen yelling at the crowd to stop throwing random items at him. Despite his repeated warnings, the audience would not listen, and the rapper ultimately left the stage. Fans were still booing Cudi as he dropped the mic and started walking off the stage.
Kanye West made a surprise appearance at Rolling Loud despite canceling his performance. It was maybe the biggest surprise of the entire event. Ye then performed “Father Stretch My Hands,” and the audience erupted.
