Honey Boo Boo made a name for herself as a child star in the reality TV series Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. Real name, Alana Thompson, she also doesn’t have the best of lives, especially due to the lack of any real friends. Mama June is also upset about Honey Boo Boo getting weight loss surgery.
It was previously reported that Honey Boo Boo wanted to get weight loss surgery once she turns 17. Boo Boo will be getting a suture sculpt endoscopic sleeve from weight loss doctor Steven Batash, costing around $13k.
While speaking to TMZ, Honey Boo Boo’s mother, Mama June, commented on her daughter wanting surgery. She is no longer in charge of her daughter, but made it clear that she would’ve shot down the idea, stating that Boo Boo should wait until she is 18.
“I’m supportive if this is something Alana wants to get, but I would say she needs to wait until she’s 18 years old.”
She also said that her daughter Alana didn’t tell her about her medical plans before deciding to go through with it. She said she’s going to tell Alana’s sister, Pumpkin, that she should wait.
Pumpkin is Alana’s guardian now, and signed off on the surgery, but June stated, “It kind of bothers me that Pumpkin didn’t tell me. If Alana wants to do it, she should wait to sign her own paperwork at 18.”
It was also said that Mama June was not informed of the weight loss procedure because she doesn’t have a relationship with the family. We’ll have to see whether the surgery will help her out or not.
