Amber Portwood is an American reality television personality and convicted criminal. She is best known for being cast in the reality television series 16 and Pregnant in 2009, After a protracted legal struggle with her ex-boyfriend Andrew Glennon, Teen Mom star Amber Portwood recently lost custody of her 4-year-old son.
The surprising turn of events happened after a judge in Indiana ruled in Andrew’s favor. The ruling came nearly three years to the day after Amber and Andrew originally split up following Amber’s arrest for domestic abuse against her then-boyfriend. The Indiana judge reportedly gave Andrew sole legal and primary physical custody of James.
According to court documents obtained by The Sun, the court ordered the 38-year-old to “seek out and consider the mother’s opinion before making any major decisions relating to the child’s medical treatment, education and religion.” Additionally, the judge reportedly agreed to Andrew’s request to move James from Indiana to California, where the father and boy will reside at Andrew’s family’s $5 million Malibu house.
In accordance with the court’s revised custody plan, Andrew was given sole legal and primary physical custody of James, while Amber was allowed overnight visits. However, the plan is to be phased in over “incremental time frames” to assist James get used to it. Amber was mandated to participate in individual counselling with the counselor of her choice and follow any suggestions provided by the counselor for the ensuing six months.
Amber and Andrew is also required to submit to monthly drug tests for the next six months. James’ former Teen Mom was detained for domestic violence in July 2019 and Andrew immediately petitioned for full custody of James. Stay tuned to Thirsty for more such news.
