Troy Polamalu became a legend in the Steel City for his blistering hits and long, curly hair. The Pittsburgh Steelers great was a once-in-a-lifetime athlete with huge charisma and even more skill on the gridiron. It seems to run in the family.
Troy’s nephew, Talati Polamalu, is currently an offensive lineman for the Georgetown Hoyas. Talati is in Nashville this week, where WWE is holding their signature SummerSlam event. Polamalu is among many young athletes who are trying their hand at pro wrestling, according to TMZ.
WWE is holding tryouts this week in Music City. At the Wild Horse Saloon, Talati Polamalu showed that he has the charisma for the job. He hopped up on stage and worked the crowd, just like a seasoned WWE superstar.
Talati said he wants to be a role model for overweight kids. He said if he can do it, anyone can. It’s just a matter of hard work.
“Look at me. You can do this. You can do whatever you want, you just got to put the work in.”
Not only does Talati Polamalu have athleticism in his blood, but he’s part of a wrestling family, too. WWE superstar Tamina Snuka is his aunt. Between that and uncle Troy’s awesome pedigree, he might have a chance to make a go of it.
