Aquaman 2 is getting a lot of buzz, mainly as fans rallied against Amber Heard. Now it appears that someone is coming back to reprise a role that is a bit less despised.
In a shocking twist of developments, Jason Momoa revealed on his Instagram that Ben Affleck will return to the DCEU as Bruce Wayne/Batman in the upcoming Aquaman sequel, And The Lost Kingdom. Momoa said the two were “busted” by tourists on the backlot of Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood.
“Well, we tried to keep it a secret!” Momoa said in a video on his Instagram, before flashing a trailer labeled ‘B.A.’ the sequel’s working title above it, Definitely indicating this is not old footage.
“REUNITED bruce and arthur. love u and miss u Ben,” Momoa captioned the photo of himself and Affleck posted on Instagram. “WB studio tours just explored the backlot alright busted on set all great things coming AQUAMAN 2 all my aloha J.”
“It’s not a f*cking secret anymore, is it?” a chuckling Momoa said in the video published on Instagram. “That’s what happens, Warner Brothers, when you walk out of your set and there’s our fans [backstage].
Affleck will also reprise the Bruce Wayne/Batman role with controversial DCEU actor Ezra Miller in The Flash, He did reprise the role when he filmed additional footage for Zack Snyder’s Justice League, which was released in 2021 on HBO Max.
James Wan returns to direct Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, in theaters from Warner Bros. and DC Films on March 17th, 2023. The Flash is currently scheduled to release later that year on June 23rd.
