Taylor Swift is getting a lot of heat after she topped the list of celebrities who leave a massive carbon footprint through their private jets. The star owns two jets, which took a whopping 170 flights in a period of 200 days in only 2022 alone. However, Swift wants to clear the mass misinterpretation of this fact.
Swift’s representative made a statement regarding the recent report. While it’s true that her jets did make the trips, her representative revealed that the jets serve other functions than just her transport.
The pop star is apparently loaning her jets to other people, which is why she scored such a high score on the Private Jet CO2 emissions list. The representative revealed this information to Rolling Stone, and dismissed those blaming Taylor as “blatantly incorrect.“
Taylor’s jet is loaned out regularly to other individuals. To attribute most or all of these trips to her is blatantly incorrect.
The report came from Yard, a sustainability marketing first. Despite them stating that the data used to build the report might have been unreliable to a degree, Taylor Swift still received brutal criticism from fans regardless.
Yard used the data from the CelebrityJets Twitter account. As per the report, Taylor Swift’s CO2 emission for the year amounted to an insane 8,293.54 metric tons. It is a pretty shocking amount when compared to the 7 metric tons of CO2 the average person usually emits.
