Elon Musk walked out of his deal to buy Twitter, and the company sued him as a result. The trial of Twitter v. Elon Musk has already been scheduled, and it could be an entertaining one. Elon recently added lower account interaction to the list of issues he has with Twitter, only a day after countersuing them.
Musk stated that interaction with almost all Twitter accounts has suddenly decreased. He then asked users if they were experiencing the same issue.
Interaction with almost all Twitter accounts seem to be much lower in recent weeks & days. Accurate?
In response, most people appear to be pointing to the impact of Elon Musk’s $44 billion deal with Twitter. “Yes, because you said that you were buying it, and then you chickened out because of whatever reason,” commented US Congress candidate Lavern Spicer. “Elon, I think it’s because Twitter fired you as their employee,” said Three Year Letterman’s Seth Morton. Plenty of others joined the conversation.
“Nah, Elon. We’re just actively ignoring you. Besides, are you so vain that you measure your life in degrees of Twitter interaction?”
“No. Pay the price you offered and let’s get on with this.”
“Maybe just interaction with you, Elon. That might be accurate. Especially with what you’ve done to destroy this platform. All your moves just seem disingenuous. You knew what you were getting into. Your stock price matched your ego when you made the offer then the stock dropped…”
However, other people also reported experiencing the same issue. It seems the Tesla founder isn’t alone in this.
“Absolutely. I track my account’s followers daily and have never had such a prolonged slump where the totals declined daily. It took a retweet from
@DanScavino and a rally shout out from President Trump to get me back in the green, but even that lasted only 5 days.”
A day after countersuing Twitter, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX added lower account interaction to the list of issues he had with the company, intensifying the legal battle. Although the 164-page document was unavailable, a redacted version might be made public shortly under court rules.
It will now be interesting to observe what happens at the trial. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Thirsty.
