Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings will continue to divide hosting gigs for the popular game show Jeopardy. Alex Trebek is gone and is irreplaceable, but the show will live on. Longtime “Jeopardy!” viewers have threatened to stop watching the show because Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings will be sharing hosting duties.
The popular game show recently said that its two temporary hosts, Jennings from September to January and Bialik from January to the end of the season, will both retain their positions. While Jennings will host the Second Chance Tournament and the Tournament of Champions, the “Call Me Kat” actress will also headline “Celebrity Jeopardy!” and unique tournaments.
This information came as unwelcomed news for some viewers. This is because both the legendary “Jeopardy!” champion and the former cast member of “The Big Bang Theory” had made their fair share of mistakes and received criticism for them. Hundreds of people commented on the announcement on Twitter, many of whom expressed displeasure that Bialik would be staying on.
One fan wrote: “Will not be watching @Jeopardy until @KenJennings becomes the primary and only host. This switching stuff sucks! #boycottjeopardy because they have idiots running it. What a mess.”
Another viewer chimed in: “Great! I’ll watch through December when Ken hosts. I will not watch any Jeopardy Mayim hosts.”
A third one commented: “And I am permanently not watchin.”
Others, though, asserted that Jennings is the issue. Last week, all three participants got a question wrong concerning Taylor Swift and her smash hit “You Need to Calm Down,” which shocked social media. Filming for the show’s 39th season will start the following week. Check out the fan reactions below.
