A huge cache of recently unsealed evidence from the lawsuit between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard was released over the weekend. There was plenty of salacious material that had previously gone unseen among the thousands of pages. One of those included a motion filed by Amber’s legal team accusing Depp of tampering with evidence in the case.

Newsweek reported that according to the documents, Amber Heard’s lawyers attempted to argue that Johnny Depp manipulated photos of his injuries among other things. They said that metadata in the files submitted by Johnny proves that they were digitally manipulated. Johnny Depp’s legal team has not commented on the matter.

The photos in question showed a series of bruises and abrasions allegedly suffered by Johnny Depp at the hands of Amber Heard. The files show created and modified dates far later than the incident’s original timeframe. Amber’s team believes that is evidence of Johnny’s tampering.

Amber Heard’s lawyers said that audio evidence submitted by Depp indicates that the recordings were modified months after they were originally recorded. Depp’s team did not produce unmodified versions of the files. That, they said, raises serious questions.

During the trial, Amber Heard used the idea of doctored pictures as a key piece of evidence in her testimony. She was accused by Depp of altering her own evidence to make herself look more injured than she actually was. Amber denied those claims in court.

With Amber Heard having filed to appeal the civil verdict, all of this could become relevant again. Johnny Depp’s legal team is confident that the result will be the same. Heard’s attorneys will have an uphill battle after losing the initial case.
