WWE held their latest series of tryouts during the SummerSlam weekend in Nashville, Tennessee. The tryouts were part of the company’s “Next In Line” program, which scouts young talent looking to become global wrestling stars. Needless to say, they drew a lot of attention.
Former Los Angeles Lakers player Dwight Howard also participated in the tryouts. The NBA star even cut a WWE-style promo to make an impression. Dwight has hopes of making it to WWE and he now has Bobby Lashley’s attention.
Lashley recently appeared on The Masked Man Show to talk about Dwight’s aspirations to become a WWE superstar. While The Almighty is willing to welcome Dwight, he has made it clear that he won’t go easy on him.
“If he steps into the ring, I’ll spear him and chop him in half. He’s like a giant. He’s 10 foot tall. I have experience with giants. I had Omos, threw him around, and he’s half the size of Omos. I don’t think he wants to go against the All Mighty. Babysteps,”
Lashley successfully defended the United States Championship against Theory at SummerSlam this past Saturday. He will put his title on the line against Ciampa on Raw next week. Only time will tell if Dwight Howard ever joins WWE to try his hand at sports entertainment.
