Mystikal rose to fame in the late 90s as a key member of Master P’s No Limit Records. Since then, he has faced a litany of legal problems. His most recent arrest came on Monday, and the charges are very serious.
Police in Louisiana charged Mystikal with rape and domestic abuse battery. There are a total of ten charges in addition to the worst offenses. He is currently being held without bond.
Mystikal’s attorney, Joel Pearce, told Page Six he believes that bond will be discussed at a hearing today. Mystikal will learn his fate at a courthouse in Ascension Parish outside of Baton Rouge. He expects a large number if the judge does grant the rapper bond.
Mystikal faced sexual assault charges over a 2016 incident back in 2017. Those charges were dropped in December of 2020 after a grand jury received new evidence. They chose not to indict at the time.
The new charges include rape in the first degree, simple robbery, false imprisonment, simple criminal damage to property, and drug charges. Mystikal has been accused of possessing amphetamines. The rape charge carries a life sentence and possibly even the death penalty.
Mystikal’s latest charges could be the end of a very successful career. Time will tell what the evidence shows. At the moment, it is not looking good.
