Britney Spears Upset At Catholic Church For Not Hosting Her Wedding

Britney Spears married Sam Asghari shortly after finally being released from her lengthy conservatorship. Spears has been sowing her wild oats and experiencing a free life for the first time as an adult. Things have been great, but not all has gone according to Britney’s whim.

Spears wanted to get married in a Catholic church. She is not a Catholic. Most people know the rules about that, but Britney Spears thinks she is an exception.

In an Instagram post, Britney shared a photo of the church she wanted to have the ceremony in. She was upset that you have to be Catholic to get married there. Spears originally hoped to have her nuptials inside during the COVID pandemic but seems to have been shocked by the fact that the church was shut down at the time.

“This is where I originally wanted to get married during COVID!!!! I wanted to go every Sunday … it’s beautiful and they said it was temporarily shut down due to COVID !!!! Then 2 years later when I wanted to get married there they said I had to be catholic and go through TEST !!!! Isn’t church supposed to be open to all?”

Britney Spears did not share the name of the church. Her stans came to her defense in the comments of her post. Many believe she is declaring war. Others explained that Catholic churches only host ceremonies for Catholics, as has always been the case.

Since Britney Spears was not Catholic, she was not able to be married in a Catholic church. Instead, she and Sam had a beautiful ceremony in the backyard of her mansion in California in June. Her dress was designed by Donatella Versace. That wasn’t enough for Britney, who doesn’t understand why thousands of years of tradition couldn’t be broken to please her.
