“Joker: Folie à Deux” finally has a release date. The sequel to The Joker will see the return of Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck, aka Joker, and now fans know how long they have to wait.
As reported by Deadline, Joker: Folie A Deux has a scheduled release date of October 4, 2024. They will reportedly commence filming this December.
The film will debut five years exactly after the first film was released. The follow-up to the 2019 surprise blockbuster, “Joker: Folie à Deux” will be a musical, with Lady Gaga expected to play the Clown Prince of Crime’s co-conspirator and love interest Harley Quinn.
Director Todd Phillips, who lead the first film to twelve Academy Award nominations in total, is returning to direct the sequel. He’s also co-writing the screenplay again with Scott Silver.
Warner Bros. announced the release date on Wednesday as an attempt to change the conversation from the controversial news that the studio canceled the $90 million-budgeted “Batgirl: Tax incentives were a driving force behind the decision to kill the DC spinoff.
