Kid Cudi is one of the biggest artists leading the charge for diversity in the music industry. However, it seems like he’s having some issues with well-known producer Mike Dean as he has reportedly been ‘canceled’ by Kid Cudi from the upcoming Moon Man’s Landing Festival.
On Wednesday, Dean took to both Twitter and Instagram to reveal a statement that read, “Looks like I won’t be playing moon man’s landing this year. Someone cancelled me. Lol. Thanks. That’s all. #immature.” A fan then asked if he was “cancel culture canceled,”
Dean saw this cancellation, but he’s not buying it. He fired back a reply that made it clear he’s not buying this cancellation attempt at all.
“lol. No one can cancel me like that! Just some baby kid baby shit.”
Dean said in response to a request for comment from HipHopDX, “[Kid Cudi dropped me] from the festival. I don’t care. I’m doing stadiums this weekend.”
The Weeknd is presently on a tour with Mike Dean as part of the After Hours Til Dawn Tour. Mike Dean has produced music for a number of artists, including Kanye West, Travis Scott, Kid Cudi, and a long list of others.
The aforementioned festival is planned to take place on September 17th in Cleveland, Ohio, which will feature artists like Kid Cudi, Playboi Carti, Pusha T, Don Toliver, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Strick, and more. Although Dean didn’t specify why he was removed, feud amongst the former Kids See Ghosts collaborators has been evident for some time now. Stay tuned to Thirsty for more updates.
