Kylie Jenner is the founder and owner of the cosmetics company Kylie Cosmetics. She is currently Instagram’s most-followed woman and second-most-followed person. That being said, she’s always under a microscope. Kylie was recently chastised for walking around her cosmetics studio without a hair net or gloves, and that’s a bit unsanitary.
Jenner has been accused of failing to follow the sanitation protocols at Kylie Cosmetics. “In the lab creating new magic for you guys better than ever,” the 24-year-old beauty mogul captioned a carousel on Instagram on Wednesday. The post showed her glammed up in a lab coat posing for pictures at her company’s facility.
Several of Jenner’s fans were concerned that her long, black hair might get caught in the makeup she was “creating.” Furthermore, while handling various materials, the “Kardashians” star was not wearing gloves. However, sources told Page Six exclusively that Jenner was not on the set when the photos and videos were taken.
Kylie was just going through colors and ideating new ideas. However, her admirers were not made aware of this. “Wear a hair cap,” one of them suggested on her post.
“Going to find hair in the make up [sic].”
“[Does] it include your hair too?”
“[Aren’t] u suppose[d] to wear gloves, mask and the hair net thingy???”
“It’s giving high school science class.”
“In the lab creating the new pandemic.”
“The actual scientist whose lab coat you have on standing right out of frame.”
“Cant wait for this to break my skin out in hives.”
Kevin James Bennett, an Emmy-winning makeup artist, and cosmetic developer echoed the critics’ thoughts before criticizing Jenner for “gaslighting [her] followers.” He explained that going in a lab without protection is simply not the way things are done.
“I’m a cosmetic developer and work with cosmetic manufacturers (and their labs) as part of my job. I have very short hair, and I’ve NEVER been allowed into the lab or onto the manufacturing floor without a hair net, shoe covers, mask…and disposable GLOVES.
Kylie is gaslighting her followers into thinking she is creating cosmetics. And I’d like to know what ignorant manufacturer (in Italy) let her stage this photo-op in their lab and on the manufacturing floor – without following proper sanitation protocols. I need the name because I want to make sure my clients NEVER work with them.
Folks, this is not the way we create cosmetics and misrepresents how our industry works. Credible manufacturers follow STRICT sanitation protocols to protect you.”
Bennett was chastised by others in the industry who supported the outlet’s information. “No lab would allow her to do the actual pouring, measuring, mixing, etc.,” one expert wrote on his post, adding, “Cute pics tho – wish I looked that hot at the lab haha.”
Many individuals criticized Kylie Jenner, while others backed her. Perhaps she just didn’t want to mess up her hair by putting on a hairnet. Either way, it’s still a big discussion point. Let’s see what Kylie has to say about it. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Thirsty.
