The Rock Called This Generation’s Nicolas Cage

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has been called many things throughout his successful career. From ‘The Great One’ to the biggest blockbuster movie star in the last decade. But one thing fans wouldn’t expect him to be called is this generation’s Nicolas Cage.

During her appearance on AEW’s Unrestricted, referee Aubrey Edwards spoke highly about The Rock and his accomplishments. When discussing The Rock as an actor, she compared his ability to take any film and turn it into a giant blockbuster to that of actor Nicolas Cage.

Dwayne Johnson has the ability to come in and make anything. He’s like this generation’s Nic Cage, where he can take any B-movie and makes it an A-movie, and it makes a f*ckload of money, and it’s great. So I know I’m gonna enjoy myself, and I’m not even a comic book nerd, but I’m a big Dwayne fan.

Of course, The Rock will star in the next big comic-book blockbuster, Black Adam, for DC and Warner Bros. Discovery. The film sees The Rock playing the anti-hero known for going against another iconic DC character, Shazam. It’ll be interesting to see fans react to The Rock playing the not-so-heroic character.
