Lil Wayne is currently one of the top rappers in the hip-hop world, and he has produced numerous classic tracks. Now, Wayne has reignited excitement for Tha Carter VI during his much-awaited Young Money reunion concert on Saturday night alongside Drake and Nicki Minaj.
The third and final night of Drake’s October World Weekend festival in Toronto’s Budweiser Stage featured the YMCMB trio performing together for the first time in almost ten years. Lil Wayne announced that Tha Carter VI album is coming during Drake’s farewell speech at the end of the spectacular concert.
“I’m working on Carter VI, coming soon!”
As the evening came to an end, a huge sign reading “Tha Carter VI” was displayed on the onstage screen. Tha Carter VI has been in the making since, at least, 2020. It is the sequel to 2018’s frequently postponed Tha Carter V, which was once thought to be the last chapter in Lil Wayne’s flagship series.
Lil Wayne performed some of his biggest collaborations with Drake and Nicki Minaj, including “Every Girl,” “The Motto,” “Moment 4 Life,” “Up All Night,” and “HYFR,” on stage alongside them before making his Tha Carter VI announcement.
Throughout the event, the three kept praising each other, with Drizzy referring to Weezy as “the most selfless man on planet Earth” while recalling his crucial 2009 deal with Young Money.
Nicki and Drake hung out later on, and that is where they filmed a hilarious video for her Barbz. Lil Wayne wasn’t around for that video, but his message about his upcoming album was exciting enough. Stay tuned to Thirsty for more updates.
