Triple H Shares His Only Regret With The Rock In WWE

Triple H is widely regarded as one of the all-time great professional wrestlers. Throughout his wrestling career, The Game had several notable feuds. However, one of his most memorable feuds was with The Rock. Now as the man in charge of WWE Creative, Triple H can look back at his past fondly.

The Rock is a very busy man, so he doesn’t have time to wrestle anymore. Triple H recently had a chance to think about those times they had in the ring, and what could have been. While speaking on Impaulsive, Triple H revealed that his one regret with The Rock is that he could not have a one-on-one bout with him at WrestleMania.

“My only regret of the whole thing with Rock is in 2000, we were poised to have a match at WrestleMania one-on-one,” revealed Triple H while speaking with Logan Paul on Impaulsive. “I think that would’ve been an epic thing for both of us in that moment,” he continued.

Due to the timing of the Undertaker and Stone Cold Steve Austin’s returns, Triple H stated that their WrestleMania match would be canceled. He stated that, while they would be able to have the one-on-one Iron Match that they desired, they were both upset that they would not be able to settle their extremely heated long-term rivalry on the Grandest Stage of Them All.

Triple H went on to say that is it what prompted the two to have a backstage confrontation in 2014 and tease a battle between the two. They stated that they still desired their WrestleMania moment all these years later, but it would not be possible owing to The Rock’s busy Hollywood schedule.

The Attitude Era was drawing to an end at the time, and wrestling was becoming less popular in the mainstream. Vince McMahon realized he needed a strong storyline to get people interested in his product. With his biggest star, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, on the shelf, he decided to pair up rising talents The Rock and Triple H in a program. While they previously had matches, they never had a proper WrestleMania program with each.
