Snoop Dogg Files Motion To Be Dropped From Drakeo The Ruler Case

Drakeo the Ruler was renowned for his flow and for using unusually poetic and expressive word choices. On December 18, 2021, while performing at the Once Upon a Time in LA festival, he was unfortunately stabbed backstage. Snoop Dogg recently filed a motion to be removed from the Drakeo the Ruler lawsuit.

According to Rolling Stone, Snoop Dogg has filed a motion to be removed from Drakeo The Ruler’s lawsuit, which was filed by the late rapper’s brother. An attorney for Snoop Dogg’s LLC and Bobby Dee Presents claims his clients, who were promoters at the Once Upon A Time In L.A. Festival where Drakeo was fatally stabbed, should be dropped from Devante Caldwell’s negligence lawsuit.

The attorney wants Snoop and Bobby Lee Present “off the hook” for any possible punitive damages. Drakeo The Ruler was stabbed to death backstage at the festival in December 2021, and no arrests have been made. Snoop Dogg, who was also due to perform at the festival, issued a message on social media shortly after he was killed, explaining why he evacuated immediately after the tragedy.

The D-O-Double-G was set to perform at 8:30 p.m. local time. However, at 9:20 p.m., police had blocked off the backstage area with yellow crime tape, while Drakeo The Ruler was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Festival organizers abruptly canceled the event for no reason. Drakeo The Ruler was confirmed deceased just hours later at the age of 28.

“I’m saddened by the events that took place last night at the Once Upon A Time in LA festival. My condolences go out to the family and loved ones of Drakeo the Ruler. I’m not with anything negative and as one of the many performers, I was there to spread positive vibes only to my city of LA.”

“Last night I was in my dressing room when I was informed about the incident and chose to immediately leave the festival grounds. My prayers go out to everyone affected by tragedy. Please take care, love one another and stay safe ya’ll. IM PRAYING FOR PEACE IN HIP HOP.”
