50 Cent is a phenomenon who will always be remembered as one of the most influential rappers in the game. 50 Cent was the heart of G-Unit, yet he hesitates to be a part of it now. Recently, 50 Cent explained why he will not participate in a G-Unit reunion project.
G-Unit previously ruled the charts and was a collective that artists wanted to be a part of, but it doesn’t appear that it will reunite anytime soon. 50 Cent’s crew of rappers including Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo, The Game, Young Buck, and others were dominant forces over a decade ago, but artists eventually went their separate ways, as with many collectives of their sort.
Fif has a relationship with Tony Yayo, but there has been some conflict with the others because the Rap mogul has often indicated that he is tired of carrying their weight. During a recent interview on The Breakfast Club, 50 Cent was asked if he would ever collaborate on a project or film with G-Unit.
“I probably won’t do a project with them. I’m done with carrying them around. My back hurt.”
Charlamagne Tha God noticed that Yayo was on tour with Fif. When it comes to Tony Yayo, 50 Cent does not have the same complaints as he does about his other previous performers.
“[Yayo] is a different animal. If it doesn’t—you know what? Charlamagne, if he does something wrong, I don’t care what magnitude of it is, he’ll go, ‘My bad.’ And he’ll go, ‘Aight.’ And we just keep going ’til the next time he does something wrong. That’s the relationship! That is our relationship. Now, when you look at Banks, all these other guys, they came in by way of him and they have a different temperament. It’s not like, it’s not the same relationship.”
“So, I don’t necessarily go back to carrying him. Yay is different.”
50 Cent has stated his unwillingness to participate in the G-Unit reunion project with a justified cause. Let’s see how fans react to it. What do you think will become a point of contention? Let us know in the comments. Stay tuned to Thirsty for more updates.
