R. Kelly is facing decades in prison. However, his legal nightmare is still not coming to an end, as he is going to undergo another trial very soon. The singer’s federal trial for his sex crimes and other related charges will begin in Chicago on Monday.
The federal trial will see four accusers take the stand and testify. One of the alleged victims set to swear is the woman who previously accused Kelly of urinating on her back when she was just 14 years old. She was once set to testify in the infamous 2008 case against Kelly. However, she never took the stand.
AP cited new court filings, as per which the unnamed victim who allegedly went through abuse by Kelly’s hands is all set to testify. She also claimed that Kelly rigged the 2008 case in order to come out unscathed. He allegedly paid her off and even resorted to threatening her.
The filings state that prosecutors will present the same VHS tape that was presented in court back in 2008. There are three additional tapes being presented as well, though they are yet unclear.
The prosecutors claim that Kelly had sexual contact with the victim hundreds of times while recording her. They also point out that some tapes were also stolen and went out on the street.
The singer was acquitted in the case, primarily because the victim refused to cooperate or offer any testimony. The alleged victim will explain the circumstances of the case, as well as her experience with Kelly.
