Nick Cannon first revealed that his son, Zen, died after losing his battle with a brain tumor in December 2021. A year has passed since Zen’s cancer diagnosis, and Alyssa Scott has paid a heartfelt tribute to their late son.
On Friday, August 12th, Alyssa posted on Instagram to express her sorrow for the loss of the five-month-old child who lost his fight with cancer in December 2021. Alyssa wrote alongside a photo of Zen wrapped in a blanket, “My body feels it. I’ve been on the verge of tears the last few days. Trying to keep a forward momentum. I miss my boy.”
Scott continued, sharing information on how she originally discovered Zen’s fatal disease, saying, “I can’t believe it’s been a year since what I thought would be a quick doctor visit turned into a 5 day hospital stay. We showed up at 9 and by 11:30 Zen was having brain surgery at 8 weeks old.”
Alyssa shared a similar emotion in June on Zen’s birthday. “Happy heavenly birthday, Zen. At the root of all the emotions I have today, there is insurmountable love,” she wrote on Instagram. “I always try my best to remain positive but right now I can’t help but cry out ‘it’s not supposed to be like this.'”
Cannon, who announced the unfortunate news on the December 7th episode of The Nick Cannon show, broke down in tears as he revealed that he was present with Zen on his last day. He also said that he got a tattoo to remember his late son four days after his death.
Zen, was one of Nick’s eight children, who arrived just nine days after the birth of the twins Zion and Zillion, who were welcomed by Nick and Abby. In addition, Nick has a son, Golden, 4, and a daughter, Powerful, 1, with Brittany Bell. He also shares identical twins, Moroccan and Monroe, with his ex-wife, Mariah Carey. On June 28, he and Bre Tiesi welcomed Legendary Love, their eighth child.
