Bryce Dallas Howard was being paid $8 million compared to her co-star Chris Pratt’s $10 million for “Jurassic Park: Fallen Kingdom,” according to a 2018 report. The subject of inequality of pay is a pressing one, especially in the film industry.
This is far from the first time that an actress has been paid less than her male co-star, despite playing an equally pivotal role in a film. While Howard did not reveal any exact figures during a new interview with Insider, she did state that she was being paid even less than the reports stated.
The reports were so interesting because I was paid so much less than the reports even said, so much less.
However, Howard did have high praise for her co-star, Pratt. Howard claims that Pratt took it upon himself to ensure that she was paid fairly. The actress claims that Pratt took it upon himself to negotiate on her behalf.
I love him so much for doing that. I really do, because I’ve been paid more for those kinds of things than I ever was for the movie.
Howard shared how she felt that she was at a great disadvantage, when it came to negotiations, since this was back in 2014. Consequently, she expressed immense gratitude towards Pratt for being supportive of her.
The problem of inequal pay is definitely one of the worst scourges of society today. It is genuinely heartwarming to see prominent faces in the industry taking a stand against this evil.
