Michelle Branch Files For Divorce From Patrick Carney After Her Domestic Violence Arrest

Patrick Carney and Michelle Branch were married for only over three years. However, it appears the relationship is about to end as Michelle recently filed for divorce from Patrick.

Michelle cited irreconcilable differences as the cause of the separation in a statement obtained by TMZ on Friday. The Black Keys’ drummer and Michelle are parents to two young children. She has requested custody and child support, but she also wants to give Patrick access to the kids occasionally.

Branch also wants Patrick to pay the cost of legal counsel. The estranged couple needs to be present at a family court as well as the judge’s orders in all cases out of that specific court.

Michelle and Patrick ended things last week, according to TMZ, only hours after she accused him of infidelity in a tweet. Branch sent out a message on social media out the matter.

“To say that I am totally devastated doesn’t even come close to describing how I feel for myself and for my family. The rug has been completely pulled from underneath me and now I must figure out how to move forward. With such small children, I ask for privacy and kindness.”

As soon as the tweet was shared, police were sent to Patrick and Michelle’s house, where the singer confessed to hitting her husband once or twice in the face. She was then taken into custody for domestic abuse. Due to the fact that she is nursing their infant daughter, she was released from custody soon after being arrested.
