Tom Holland is a young social Hollywood sensation, as evidence by the number of individuals that follow him on the internet. However, it appears like Holland is stepping back from the platform. Tom Holland recently stated that he is removing himself from social media because it is quite detrimental to his mental state.
Tom Holland said he’s deleting his social media apps, for the time being, citing a “detrimental” influence on his mental health in an Instagram video. In the comments area, Justin Bieber, Kyle, and others expressed their support for Holland.
“I have taken a break from social media for my mental health because I find Instagram and Twitter to be overstimulating, to be overwhelming. I get caught up and I spiral when I read things about me online, and ultimately, it’s very detrimental to my mental state. So I decided to take a step back and delete the app.”
“There is an awful stigma against mental health and I know that asking for help and seeking help isn’t something that we should be ashamed of, but it is something that is much easier said than done.”
Holland also expressed his support for Stem4, a nonprofit located in the United Kingdom dedicated to raising awareness about adolescent mental health. Holland contributes to charity through his own foundation, The Brothers Trust. Justin Bieber responded with a tweet and subsequently, Kyle responded.
“Love you man.”
“love u dude.”
Zendaya, Holland’s girlfriend, has also spoken out against the harmful effects of social media, telling People last year that the platforms made her “anxious.” But now Tom Holland is executing the same.
