Ice hockey legend, Wayne Gretzky seems to have found himself in a bit of a pickle. It seems that Gretzky is being sued for allegedly lying about a product that he endorsed.

TMZ reports the product in question is the OMG gum, also known as the “overeating management gum,” which Gretzky claimed, helped him lose over 35 pounds in just two short months.

The gum was created by the plaintiff, Steven Sparks, who claims that he had initially hired Gretzky’s wife, Janet Marie, to be a spokesperson for the product. However, complications arose following Wayne’s lie.

Sparks alleges that Wayne used the lie about the weight loss to boost the company’s stock, “which he surreptitiously purchased under his family’s name.” Following this, Sparks himself reinvested in the company.

However, when Wayne came clean about the lie, the company’s stock tanked, causing Sparks to lose about $10 million. Consequently, Sparks is now suing Wayne for that amount, and then some. We will have to see how things progress in this tricky legal matter.
