When Breaking Bad first began airing, it was an absolutely groundbreaking phenomenon. Few shows have been as impactful and significant as the series. When the spinoff, “Better Call Saul” was announced, people had high expectations. It is safe to say that the series met those expectations and then some.
Better Call Saul began airing back in 2015, and over the last seven years, the series has firmly cemented itself as one of the greatest pieces of television ever. It comes as no surprise then, that bidding farewell to the show is proving difficult.
Fans of the show are not the only ones who are going to miss it. Series lead, Bob Odenkirk, who plays the titular Saul Goodman, shared a heartfelt video wherein he laid down his feelings regarding the series coming to an end.
Everybody’s been asking me how I feel about saying goodbye to Saul Goodman and Better Call Saul and I’m not good at answering the question because it’s frankly hard for me to look at that experience and even at that character too closely.
Adding on, Odenkirk also described being part of the series as “an unbelievable experience,” touching upon how “too many moving parts […] fit together too beautifully,” and that it’s a mystery to him how it even happened.
In his farewell video, Odenkirk also gave hearty praise to showrunner Vince Gilligan and writer Peter Gould, as well as the entire cast and the Albuquerque crew. Odenkirk’s portrayal of Saul touched the hearts of fans all over the world, and the character will continue to live on in our hearts. Check out Odenkirk’s video below.
