Eminem is widely regarded as one of the best rappers of all time. Em’s worldwide fame and critically acclaimed work are widely regarded as having broken racial barriers for the acceptance of white rappers in popular music. New Fortnite content has now surfaced, hinting that Eminem may be headlining the free-to-play game’s upcoming musical event and possibly become a playable skin.
The enormously popular battle royale game has developed from a multiplayer shooter to one of the world’s most prominent marketing tools. The game has merged with dozens of franchises, including Marvel, DC, Star Wars, The Walking Dead, and many others. Fortnite has added Naruto and announced a Dragon Ball crossover launching on August 16th.
While many fans question how many more crossovers might fit into the game, Epic Games continues to add more to the Fortnite experience than just character skins. Several digital concerts took place in the game, providing a safe place for fans to gather and listen to music during the height of the global COVID-19 pandemic.
Famous musicians such as Marshmello, Travis Scott, and Ariana Grande lent their likenesses to the game. They aided in the creation of a musical experience that featured never-before-seen special effects and a level of immersion that digital concerts had not yet reached. Following their digital concert events, both artists became playable skins. According to newly discovered music playing on Fortnite’s in-game radio station, another large-scale musical event might be on the horizon.
According to Comic Book, over the weekend, Fortnite users noticed the in-game ICONS radio station started playing solely Eminem songs, prompting many to suspect the talented rapper may be headlining the game’s next large-scale digital concert. The discovery was made by HYPEX (via InTheShadYT) on Twitter and included a list of every Eminem song presently available in the game. Although no official announcement of a Fortnite Eminem musical event has yet been made, the developers have become pros at teasing new content with updates that carry hints for upcoming content.
Besides adding almost every popular pop culture character, such as Spider-Man and Goku, to Fortnite, developers have also made some significant changes to the gameplay. Fortnite’s now-permanent Zero Build mode, Grapple Glove, and the inclusion of a variety of vehicles have changed it into a very different game from when it initially launched in 2017.
Time will tell how long the F2P shooter will be popular with players. Still, suppose developers continue to raise the bar and provide interesting and one-of-a-kind experiences. In that situation, Fortnite may be popular for many years to come. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Thirsty.
