Fetty Wap has worked hard to establish himself as one of hip-hop’s most popular rappers, a position he has held for many years. Despite this, he had his fair share of controversies. He was recently sentenced to 5 years in prison for drug trafficking.
According to TMZ, after pleading guilty to a federal drug charge, Fetty Wap will be sentenced to at least 5 years in prison. Fetty appeared in court on Monday and pled guilty to one count of intent to distribute controlled substances, including cocaine, heroin, and fentanyl, after his October arrest. In addition to firearms charges, two of his co-defendants, Robert Leonardi and Anthony Cyntje, pled guilty to the same count.
According to a representative for the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York, the 31-year-old rap artist will face a mandatory minimum of five years in prison. Officials expect him to serve between 87 and 108 months. However, he cannot get anything less than 5-year.
Fetty is currently in custody. Fetty and his co-defendants were apprehended while traveling for Rolling Loud New York. They were accused of smuggling drugs using USPS trucks. Feds said they uncovered $1.5 million in cash, 16 kilos of cocaine, 2 kilograms of heroin, fentanyl pills, and multiple firearms during their investigation.
Fetty also has another case pending for allegedly making death threats during a Facetime call in December 2021. Let’s see how things go. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Thirsty.
