Amidst the havoc caused by HBO Max’s merger with Discovery+, several titles have become victims of being removed from the streaming service. As a result, the streaming service has garnered quite a bit of negative press.

Possibly the most high profile cancellation was that of the “Batgirl,” which left several fans disappointed. The movie, which was set to have the DCEU’s first Latino lead, was highly anticipated by fans.

Now, Sesame Street has become the latest victim of this merger. According to a Screen Rant report, this could possibly be the company’s biggest strategic blunder so far.

Nearly 200 episodes of Sesame Street have been removed from the platform, making them inaccessible to children all over the world. The cast and crew of the show seem absolutely devastated.

The third-party analytics firm, Samba TV, has just released its Q2 report, which revealed that 62% of HBO Max subscribers exclusively watched Sesame Street. The cancellation of HBO Max’s best performing show is bound to hurt the company irreparably.
