Baker Mayfield’s Wife Shed ‘A Lot Of Tears’ After Leaving Cleveland

Baker Mayfield was selected by the Cleveland Browns first overall in the 2018 NFL Draft. His time as a Cleveland Brown finally came to an end. After Baker was traded to the Carolina Panthers, Emily Mayfield expressed her sadness at leaving Cleveland.

Emily acknowledged that the process had been emotional and involved “a lot of tears.” The former first-round choice in the 2018 NFL Draft spent his first four professional seasons with the Browns before being traded to Charlotte in the contentious deal involving Deshaun Watson.

Emily is thinking back on all the memories she shared with her spouse as the 2022–23 season draws near. According to TMZ, she never imagined she would already be saying goodbye. Emily recalled all the occasions they celebrated at their first home together, including holiday get-togethers and barbecues.

It’s obviously been an emotional couple of days. Baker and I left last season, truly expecting to come back for another season (like the previous 4 years). No part of me thought it’d be the last time we’d leave that house together or the last time we’d shut it down to head out on our off-season adventures. I am leaving Cleveland with such fond memories. I’m leaving this house with a full heart. This week brought A LOT of tears. It brought tons of nostalgia. But I’m so happy I felt those feelings… it means it was a good ride.

Mayfield claimed she’s eager to make fresh experiences in Charlotte, but she acknowledges “there’s just something about that first place ….. Thank you, CLE. You’ll forever hold a special place in my heart.” On the plus side, Emily claimed a flight attendant gave her the most huge pour of wine after noticing her swollen eyes on her flight from Cleveland. Cleveland is liked by some people, after all.
