“Young Rock” mesmerized audiences with its cheerful yet energetic portrayal of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Season One and Two of the show garnered tremendous critical acclaim, and now the show is returning with a third season.
Season 3 will explore the “Golden Era” of professional wrestling as well as the careers of wrestling legends such as Hulk Hogan and Mr. T. Showrunners are already searching for someone to play the role of the Hulkster.
Young Rock Season 3 is expected to contain at least one episode that will retell the stories of WrestleMania 1. According to PW Insider, the show will dive into WrestleMania 1 territory for that particular episode.
As PWInsider.com previously reported, Young Rock is seeking to cast someone to play Hulk Hogan as a recurring guest star for the third season of the series, which will begin shooting next month in Memphis, TN.
PWInsider.com can exclusively confirm that for at least one of the episodes, they will be diving into Wrestlemania 1 territory for an episode set in 1985.
For that episode, the series is seeking to cast someone to play Mr. T as well as Cyndi Lauper, who managed Wendi Richter on the first Mania event.
PWInsider.com is told they are also seeking to cast several celebrities from that time period, including Liberace.
Young Rock Season 3 arrives on Friday, November 4th, on NBC. The popular series will go head to head with Fox’s main WWE offering, SmackDown. Keep reading Thirsty for more.
