Britney Spears is enjoying her life to the fullest since her conservatorship ended last year. After a five-year relationship, the music sensation married Sam Asghari earlier this year. Fans are now overjoyed since she recently released a new song.
Fans all around the world are cheering Britney Spears’ comeback to music with the release of her new track with Elton John. Spears and John collaborated on “Hold Me Closer,” a fresh take on his popular song “Tiny Dancer.” The track is Spears’ first release after her conservatorship ended in November 2021.
According to Kworb, the song is already number one on iTunes in 30 countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Brazil, Mexico, Germany, Italy, Israel, and Sweden, just hours after it was released online. Spears created songs, went on tour, and had a Las Vegas residency under the conservatorship, but she testified last summer that she was compelled to work against her will for the duration of the 13-year court-ordered arrangement.
While Spears’ attorney, Mathew Rosengart, fights for her in court, the singer has been enjoying her newfound freedom and marriage to Sam Asghari, while keeping busy working on projects of her choosing, such as a major book deal and recording in the studio with John. Rosengart made a statement to the outlet shortly after the release of “Hold Me Closer,” thanking his client, whom he described as a “brilliant artist” and “iconic person” who had “been through a lot.”
After our hard-fought court battles and success in removing her father as conservator and then the termination of the conservatorship last year, I was inundated with inquiries about what Britney would do next. My response was simple. ‘For the first time in 13 years, that is up to one person and one person only: Britney.’ No one should be surprised that her first foray is a smash success. As I’ve said all along, Britney is a brilliant artist and iconic person. It’s been a privilege working with her. She’s been through a lot. Regardless of what comes next for her and whatever she chooses, I am so very proud of her.
“Hold Me Closer” is bound to be a big success. Aside from becoming one of the best-selling musicians of all time, public interest in Spears is higher than ever, with her conservatorship story touching a chord throughout the world. Throughout her career, the Grammy-winning pop icon has sold over 100 million records, including several No. 1 albums and singles on the Billboard charts, and has been named Forbes’ highest-earning female singer on multiple occasions.
The #FreeBritney movement, which backed the songstress during her conservatorship struggle and has now started the hashtag #JusticeForBritney, is cheering on the Princess of Pop now that the track is out.
