Elon Musk is one of the world’s richest people. Despite being the most successful business magnate in recent memory, it appears that Tesla CEO’s mother does not get a proper room when she visits him in Texas. Maye Musk recently revealed that when she visits to his SpaceX headquarters, she stays in his garage.

Texas may be the land of big things, but Maye Musk’s lodgings might not fit that description. The mother of billionaire Elon Musk claims that when she visits her son at his SpaceX headquarters in Boca Chica, Texas, she lodges in a rather unexpected place. Maye said to The Times in the UK, “I have to sleep in the garage.

Maye made no further mention of her strange accommodations. She told the outlet that her son isn’t particularly interested in material possessions. “No,” she said, “not at all in that sense.”

Currently residing in a New York apartment, Maye loves to take her dog on walks while wearing “old clothes, a shabby coat, a hat, and dark glasses.” She stated, “My place is not big.”

I don’t need big. I don’t need wasted space because with it come responsibilities. I feel like I am settled in and I said to my kids, ‘This is the nicest place I have ever lived.’

Maye also displayed lots of love towards her children throughout the interview. She shared the endearing nickname she had for Elon when he was young. Calling him “Genius Boy,” she recalled how Elon “remembered everything he read.”
