Britney Spears Had A ‘Secret Relationship’ While Under Strict Conservatorship

There has been a lot of drama surrounding pop icon Britney Spears’ conservatorship over the past several years. And now a stunning video, Spears released to the world about a lot of new information, including the fact that she kept a relationship secret during that time in her life.

Spears revealed in a bombshell audio clip posted to YouTube Sunday that she had a “secret relationship” during her 13-year conservatorship. Apparently, she nearly fled the United States with the unknown man.

“I was talking to a guy, and he wanted to just leave the country with me,” the pop star, 40, shared in the now-deleted video. “We had it all set up to just leave, and it was a secret relationship.”

Spears said she once opened up about the top secret romance to her assistant when they were backstage at one of her Las Vegas residency shows. She told her former employee that her “biggest fear was “what would my dad do if I did do something wrong? What if they found me? What would they do?”

Britney added that she feared “they would lock me up or really hurt me” if she actually left the US. She also recalled the assistant telling her, “Are you kidding me, Britney? Your dad would never do that to you.” Spears mentioned that her assistant was proven wrong when she was forced into a mental health facility in the early part of 2019 against her will.

In the 22-minute video, Spears went into more details about the abuse she alleged experienced at the hands of her father, Jamie Spears, his co-conservators, and the therapists at the treatment center but did not share more about her secret romance.

When Britney was in a conservatorship from 2008 to 2021, she had other relationships that were known to the public. Spears dated talent agent Jason Trawick from 2010 to 2013.s David Lucado from 2013 to 2014 and Charlie Ebersol from 2015 to 2016 and with her now-husband, Sam Asghari starting in October 2016 while Britney was filming the music video for “Slumber Party” and got engaged in September 2021 after six years together and two months before Britney was officially free.

Britney Spears’ conservatorship may never be truly over, as the memories will remain. All that matters is that Britney is mentally healthy and hopefully has a happy life with her new husband.
