James Wan’s 2018 Aquaman was an instant hit with audiences thanks to its absurd humor, colorful cinematography, and intense action. Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Nicole Kidman all played significant roles in the film that Momoa starred in as Arthur Curry. Following the revelation of Ben Affleck’s comeback, Jason Momoa indicated that more than one Batman may feature in his DCEU follow-up Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
The possibility of numerous Batmen showing up in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is truly exciting. Given its incredible success, a sequel to Aquaman, which was the first DCEU film to earn over $1 billion at the box office, was immediately approved, with Wan and Momoa both returning. Speaking to AP at the Red Carpet premiere of his Apple TV+ series’ last season, Momoa suggested that Aquaman 2 may include several Batmen.
I cannot tell you anything about the reunion. He may or may not be in it, and there could be more or less, or even more Batmans in it. Who knows? You only know a little bit.
The actor made a fun jest about the fact that fans may not know as much as they think they do and that Aquaman 2 may have even less Batman than they anticipate without directly confirming anything. Before the news of Affleck’s participation in the film surfaced, there were rumors that Michael Keaton’s Batman might appear in Aquaman 2.
In reality, it is said that Keaton’s Caped Crusader made an appearance in the test screenings. However, the presence confused the audience because they couldn’t see how Keaton’s Batman fit into the story. Since then, there have been debates over whether both Batmen will appear in Aquaman 2 or whether Affleck will take over Keaton’s Batman role, which was the more likely scenario prior to Momoa’s remarks.
