House Party, the famous fun film franchise launched in 1990, starring Hip Hop icons Kid ‘n Play. The films have long been regarded as classics. Now, LeBron James’ House Party fick offers an updated version for this new generation.
Seems like there will be some delays with the film’s release, and Christopher “Play” Martin spoke with TMZ about LeBron’s impact and why the initial release date has come and gone. When asked if he thought the film would be a box office success, Play was hesitant in his response.
He’s very involved. He has complete ownership, to my understanding at this point. The release was supposed to be on HBO Max, July 28, and then. no one knew what happened ’cause it got pulled from the schedule. But from—I’ll leave it like this. From a very reliable source, probably don’t get no [more] reliable than this, that the King himself, that now it’s gonna be a theatrical release.
Well, it depends. I don’t know how people will feel about how good the film itself will be. That, itself, we’ll have to see. But all of that being said, I think it’s exciting. I think it’s exciting for Kid and I, I think it’s exciting for a new generation of actors that are involved now, but when you’re dealing with a classic, you know what I’m saying, it kind of speaks for itself.
Christopher went on to laud the film’s actors and expressed excitement for the rest of the world to witness the finished product. Let’s see how it goes. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Thirsty.
