Anderson Silva is one of the greatest fighters in MMA history. When he was actively fighting, he stepped into the octagon ring with the greatest fighters. He was released from the UFC back in 2020, but he is not done with fighting yet.
There have been reports emerging online suggesting that Silva could be facing Jake Paul. While Silva has gotten wins to his name since his UFC release, Paul has confirmed that he is going to have his next fight in October. Now, Silva has gotten a professional boxing license in Arizona.
According to MMA Junkie, The Arizona Boxing and Mixed Martial Arts Commission approved Silva’s license application on Friday afternoon. That means Silva will be able to compete in the boxing ring, and it could be against Jake Paul.
The vote passed unanimously for the license application. The Arizona commissioner said the following regarding the approval of Silva’s application:
“Congratulations, Mr. Silva. We’re looking forward to what’s to come.”
As for Silva himself, he said that he has been preparing himself and keeping his body and mind fit. “I’m training hard every day. I’m keeping my mind busy and healthy. I’m so excited,” he explained.
While all the recent reports point towards Silva facing Paul, Dana White guaranteed that the two will never meet in the ring. It remains to be seen if the two will really fight together, or if White was right all along.
