Dr. Dre is without a doubt one of the most accomplished rappers in hip-hop history. Since his days in the NWA, his influence on the entire genre has been unparalleled. Dr. Dre recently stamped Nigerian artist Pheelz during a studio session.
Everyone in the room gave their all during Dr. Dre and Diddy’s first-ever studio session. This was especially true for an upcoming musician named Pheelz, who definitely absorbed light-years of musical knowledge. Dre took a liking to the Nigerian singer and producer during the course of a pretty legendary night last week who gave Doc the nickname “Mayowa,” which means “joy bringer” in his native tongue.
Pheelz told TMZ hip-hop that being in the studio with Dre, Diddy, Jimmy Iovine, and others that night was a sight to behold, and he’s confident the end product will be a hit with fans. He claims that while growing up in Nigeria, he had a connection with Dre through his music, which impacted his own producing career. Pheelz received Producer of the Year at the Headie Awards in 2020, Nigeria’s greatest hip-hop honor.
Pheelz also claimed that by collaborating with Dre, his art is that much better following the studio session. Pheelz was in the front row when American powerhouses Diddy and Dre collaborated on tracks that will feature on Dre and Snoop’s upcoming joint album. According to sources involved in the blockbuster recording session, Diddy took Dre’s studio coaching by heart and their chemistry began to develop on the spot.
Pheelz is steadily increasing his profile in the United States, and this iconic moment will help him get there. He just released “Electricity,” a collaboration with Davido. He’ll be performing at the BMI Awards next week in Miami.
A trip to the doctor’s office will undoubtedly benefit an artist’s career. Among the finest examples are Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and The Game. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Thirsty.
