Harry Styles Denies Story That He Spat On Chris Pine’s Lap

Harry Styles is currently more recognized as a solo artist than he was as a part of the band ‘One Direction,’ thanks to his feminine aesthetics. Aside from music, Styles is also working on a film. Rumors have circulated that he intentionally spat on Chris Pine during the premiere of Don’t Worry Darling, but Harry denies all of it.

The Guardian reports, that representatives for Harry Styles have denied that their client spat on co-star Chris Pine during the premiere of their film, Don’t Worry Darling, on Monday at the Venice Film Festival. Speculation gripped sections of the internet overnight and through Tuesday when video footage appeared to show Styles spitting into Pine’s lap as he took his seat for the world premiere. “This is not true,” said sources close to Styles on Tuesday.

Sources close to Pine shared the sentiment, emphasizing that “there is nothing but respect between these two men.” The suggestion of such behavior is fueled by what looks to be a heated press push for the film so far. Pine appeared disengaged at Monday’s press conference in which the film’s director, Olivia Wilde, attempted to downplay rumors of a conflict between her and the film’s actress, Florence Pugh.

Pugh was absent from the press conference. She did, however, attend the premiere, where she appeared to consciously avoid eye contact with Wilde. During the press conference, a question concerning Shia LaBeouf’s departure from the film was shut down before Wilde could respond. Don’t Worry Darling is a thriller set in a seemingly perfect US suburb.

Styles and Pugh play a couple whose marriage is challenged when Pugh’s character uncovers the truth about a neighbor’s disappearance. The film has received mostly negative reviews, with critics complimenting Pugh but questioning Styles’ acting ability. “I have no idea what I’m doing,” Styles said at a press conference on Monday.
