Nate Diaz is certainly one of the most legitimate fighters to have ever stepped foot inside the Octagon. Diaz also has lofty ambitions after retiring from MMA. He also reacted to Khamzat Chimaev pulling out of their UFC 279 fight.
UFC 279 was going to see Nate Diaz face Khamzat Chimaev in Diaz’s final match for the company. However, Chimaev was pulled from the match after failing to make weight.
He will now be fighting Tony Ferguson instead. While speaking with ESPN MMA, UFC’s Megan Olivi asked him whether he’s watched Tony Ferguson fight before. Diaz made it clear he is irritated at what happened.
“At least I don’t have to deal with this [Khamzat Chimaev situation]. So, that’s 1-0 on him [Chimaev]. So, if I could get through this dude [Tony Ferguson] tomorrow, then that’s 2-0 for the weekend. So, this is two for one.
It’s all a mess. It’s f**king irritating. I trained for Khamzat. I don’t even know how to fight this guy [Ferguson] here. I’m gonna watch some video tonight. But it don’t matter anyway because I train for everybody, always, anyway. I don’t train for fights anymore. I just train to fight everybody, always; ready for war.”
We will have to wait and see whether Nate Diaz will be able to defeat Tony Ferguson in his final fight. Fans will certainly be excited to watch what Diaz will do in the end.
