Grey’s Anatomy is currently one of the longest-running television shows out there, with its 17th season having ended a while ago. The show made its debut in 2005 and was a smash hit with fans and critics alike. It remains ABC’s most popular drama.

Throughout its duration, the show has featured several characters being killed off or actors leaving the show. It was reported earlier that fan-favorite Jesse Williams confirmed that he will be leaving the show, and that happened on an important episode of the show. On top of that, even Greg Germann left the show as a series regular.

Kate Walsh already made her return to the show during the show’s 18th season. Sandra Oh left the show many years ago and made it clear she is never coming back.

Patrick Dempsey surprised everyone when he reprised the role of Derek Shepherd, a.k.a. McDreamy, on Grey’s Anatomy in season 17. While speaking to Hollywood Life, Dempsey made it clear that the show will find a way to bring his character back from the dead.

“Who knows? With this show, you know, it’s amazing that it’s gone on as long as it has. I had a great time when I was at the beach. It was great that the fans embraced it, and we could pull it off without them knowing, so it’s a good surprise.

[When asked about fan speculation that Derek’s death was faked] I heard about that. I heard that. They’ll figure out some way to bring him back I’m sure.”

We will have to wait and see whether Patrick Dempsey will make his return to the show. Fans would love to see him back for one more episode at least.
