Conor McGregor remains one of the most talked-about and highly controversial fighters in the history of the MMA world. He has competed against the best of the best the sport has to offer. The hope is still not lost on another fight against Nate Diaz.
This includes his highly lauded fights against Nate Diaz, as the two faced off against each other on two occasions at UFC 196 and UFC 202. They both have one victory over the other.
For quite a while now, many fans have been wondering whether the two will face off in a third fight and complete their trilogy together. Even Conor McGregor himself said a third fight must happen.
Nate Diaz successfully defeated Tony Ferguson at UFC 279 as well. While speaking with the media at the UFC 279 post-fight press conference, Nate Diaz made it clear he wants to face off against Conor McGregor in a trilogy fight.
I would like to finish that, the trilogy for sure. That would not be a trilogy in boxing, that would be [fight] No. 1. We could do some of those, too, but I’m going to go do what he tried to do and show him how to do it.”
We will have to wait and see whether the Stockholm brawler and The Notorious One will finally face each other in their third fight in the future or not.
