Pete Davidson Copies Kanye West’s Met Gala Look For The Emmys

Pete Davidson just ended a good run of relationship with Kim Kardashian. It all started with Kanye West mentally abusing him after that Kim K divorce. Contrary to the previous drama, this time Pete Davidson chose to dress up like Kanye as a bit of payback shade.

The “SNL” actor made an unexpected appearance at the 2022 Emmys on Monday, September 12th. Pete gave the Best Comedy Series award while sporting a low-key attire that was heavily influenced by a prior Kanye look. This outfit resembled the one Kanye wore at the 2019 Met Gala.

Davidson was dressed in a grey Dickies “Eisenhower” jacket ($60) and grey jeans. He made a statement by adding white high-fashion sunglasses to his monochromatic ensemble. He abruptly appeared, wearing his customary short blonde hair, surprising everyone.

Back in 2019, Kanye accompanied then-wife Kardashian to the “Camp”-themed Met Gala wearing the identical jacket in black. His subdued appearance was a deliberate attempt to deflect attention from himself and place it on the founder of SKIMS. Her wet-looking Thierry Mugler dress and corset made her the topic of the evening.

Even after their divorce, Kim continued to sport seductive outfits. A few years later, when Davidson escorted Kim to the 2022 Met Gala, the reality star was once again the center of attention. Only this time Kim donned Marilyn Monroe’s “Happy Birthday, Mr. President” dress.

Pete’s attempt to dress identically to Kanye might be a sign to stand out to Kim after their breakup. It could be his attempt at winning back Kim or just a mere coincidence. The former, however, is a long shot in the dark.
