Jada Pinkett Smith Celebrates ‘Bald Is Beautiful Day’ Months After Oscar Fiasco

Jada Pinkett Smith is best known for her recurring role as a supporting character in the sitcom A Different World. Her husband, Will Smith, slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars a few months back after the comedian made a joke about Pinkett Smith’s shaved head, which attracted a lot of controversy. However, she recently celebrated “Bald is Beautiful Day” with a stunning selfie on her social media.

The actress took to Instagram to celebrate “Bald Is Beautiful Day” on Tuesday by posting a lovely selfie. She wrote in the caption, “Happy Bald is Beautiful day to all my brothers and sisters with no hair❣️❣️❣️,”

Jada initially discussed her struggle with hair loss in 2018. On her “Red Table Talk” Facebook Watch show, she disclosed her autoimmune illness diagnosis.

“I’ve been having issues with hair loss. It was terrifying when it first started. I was in the shower one day and had just handfuls of hair in my hands and I was just like, ‘Oh my God, am I going bald?’

It was one of those times in my life where I was literally shaking in fear.”

Smith shaved her hair off in 2021, embracing the bald look after “experimenting” with steroid injections to try to regenerate her hair. Smith was influenced by her daughter Willow Smith, who also has head shaved.

The “Matrix” star said in December 2021 showing off a new bald spot,

“Mama’s gonna have to take it down to the scalp so nobody thinks she got brain surgery or something … Me and this alopecia are going to be friends … period!”
