Chris Jericho is known for his flashy rock star persona. Journalists and industry colleagues have dubbed him one of the best professional wrestlers of all time. His well-known AEW song, “Judas,” made an appearance in Cobra Kai season 5 thanks to Paul Walter Hauser.
Chris Jericho and his worldwide famous heavy metal band, Fozzy, composed and performed “Judas,” which became a bona fide phenomenon in 2020 when AEW fans began shouting the lyrics in the arena. Since then, “Judas” follows Chris Jericho and his various AEW allies to the ring every time. Literally, everyone in attendance serenades the ultimate sports performer with his own song.
AEW even cuts down the music to allow supporters to sing “I’m become, I’m become, I’m becoming Judas in, Judas in my mind!” a capella. Thanks to Paul Walter Hauser, a wrestling fanatic, Chris Jericho and Fozzy’s “Judas” made it into Cobra Kai season 5, episode 5, “Extreme Measures.” Hauser has been sighted at ringside at multiple AEW events, and he is well-liked by the wrestlers.
According to Screen Rant, Paul was singing “Judas” on the Cobra Kai set, according to executive producers Jon Hurwitz, Josh Heald, and Hayden Schlossberg. The producers quickly understood they’d have to buy the rights to use Fozzy’s song. When they shot a version of Stingray’s scene without “Judas,” they discovered that it worked far better with him belting out the Jericho theme. Due to his contacts with Jericho, Fozzy, and AEW, Hauser apparently helped secure a lower fee for the rights to “Judas.”
Stingray singing “Judas” is not only an incredible shout-out to Chris Jericho and AEW, but it also effectively explains Raymond’s crisis of conscience in Cobra Kai season 5. Despite Terry Silver’s abilities, Stingray understood what he did to Sensei Kreese was wrong, and he was both worried and terrified of Sensei Silver. In Kreese’s opinion, Stingray was a “Judas,” but towards the end of Cobra Kai season 5, Raymond did the right thing and became a “Judas” to Terry Silver by helping Daniel and his allies in taking down the ponytailed supervillain.
In Cobra Kai season 5, good prevailed against evil, as it eventually does in AEW. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Thirsty.
