50 Cent remains one of the most influential rappers in the history of the hip-hop world. The lucrative deal he had with STARZ officially ends this weekend, and it doesn’t appear that he intends to extend it.
The Queens, New York legend boasted on Instagram on Friday about the 25 television shows he has produced. He also appeared determined to use his skills outside of the STARZ empire he has established.
The rap legend posted a great caption as he posted with a few stacks of cash. Of course, paper is something 50 Cent always has around to flex when needed.
“Shout out to BET, I won Hustler of the year. No one from music culture has had success in Television production. I have 25 shows now and I’ve made some big deals away from TV. I’m out of my deal at STARZ tomorrow.”
The caption, however, appears to have revealed the winner of the Hustler of the Year award at the forthcoming 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards. Along with Cardi B, DJ Khaled, Drake, JAY-Z, Kanye West, and Megan The Stallion, the Power mogul is also nominated in the category. It’s unknown whether 50 was given a victory tip or is just sure of his chances.
Meanwhile, the rapper appears to be expanding his line of businesses. Josh Gerben, a trademark attorney, claims that 50 has applied for a number of trademarks for “Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson” through his NYC Vibe, LLC. Stay tuned to Thirsty for the latest updates.
