Britney Spears’ 13-year conservatorship caused her a significant deal of stress and emotional suffering. She was eventually released from conservatorship last year and is now living the life she always desired. It was recently reported that Britney and Jamie are trying to settle their conservatorship financial dispute.
TMZ reports, that Britney and Jamie Spears’ lawyers are negotiating an end to their contentious legal battle. Britney’s lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, has reached out to both Jamie’s lawyer and lawyers for Tri Star Sports & Entertainment Group in an attempt to reach an agreement. Rosengart previously accused Jamie and Tri-Star of taking large sums of money from Britney. However, they strongly denied the allegation.
Lawyers representing Jamie and Tri Star approached Rosengart a few months after the conservatorship ended last November to reconcile their disputes. Britney’s lawyer, on the other hand, was having none of it and was moving ahead. Rosengart had a change of heart about a month ago and offered to settle the court battle for around $7 million.
Lawyers representing Tri Star and Jamie demanded to know how he got at that amount, but Rosengart refused to provide details, resulting in an impasse. Both parties are still open to settling, and a source with direct knowledge informed the outlet that Rosengart contacted Tri Star this week to talk about a possible settlement.
According to sources close to Tri Star and Jamie, Rosengart is “scrambling” to settle the matter. However, a source with direct knowledge in Britney’s camp reported that Rosengart is not scrambling at all, and general settlement talks are simply standard operating procedure in any legal dispute.
The sticking point is how much Jamie and/or Tri Star are ready to pay, and how much Britney is willing to take to end this legal battle. We’ll keep you updated. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Thirsty.
