Sarah Chalke & Fiance Jamie Afifi Split Up

Sarah Chalke and Jamie Afifi have been together for a long time and were engaged in 2006. Fans admired this duo and never imagined their split. However, an unexpected occurrence happened that may surprise many.

Sarah Chalke and Jamie Afifi’s relationship is unfortunately over. Chalke’s representatives confirm to PEOPLE that she and fiancé Jamie Afifi “separated some time ago.” The Scrubs actress’s representatives further added about the relationship.

“They remain committed to being devoted co-parents and good friends.”

Chalke and Afifi, both got engaged in 2006, but the couple never married. Charlie and Frances are the two children born to them. The Scrubs alum went on to say that her two children are “extremely distinct human beings.”

“When I initially found out I was pregnant the first time, I just assumed it was going to be a girl because I come from all girls. I was thinking, like, ‘A boy? What do you do with a boy? I don’t know how to do that.'”

“Now can’t imagine not having gotten to parent a boy. It’s Lego structures and lightsaber fights, water balloon fights after school and ice hockey.”

Season 2 of Netflix’s Firefly Lane, which is expected to release later this year, is on the horizon for Chalke. Chalke co-stars with Katherine Heigl as one half of a best friend duo navigating changes and traumas throughout their lives.

The second season will have high stakes because the season 1 ending left the lifelong friends at odds over a secret rivalry. Chalke teased the reason for the battle on a Zoom call with followers in May 2021.

“So, this issue between Tully and Kate, we can’t say much, but we can say that it’s family related. And it has nothing to do with Johnny [Ben Lawson].”

Chalke will reprise her role as Beth Smith on Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty in addition to Firefly Lane. The fifth season premieres on June 20th.
