Black Adam is 30 days away and the marketing is officially on full blast with a brand-new trailer to start. Unfortunately, there was one controversial aspect to it. Luckily, the frame was edited out.
On Wednesday night, Warner Bros Discovery released an updated version of the spot that removes the reference to the 2017 theatrical version of Justice League entirely. Instead, including what appears to be footage from Black Adam itself.
The original spot featured a shot of Steppenwolf from the 2017 theatrical cut of Justice League. The decision upset some fans, as the scene actually centered around Darkseid in last year’s streaming hit Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson addressed the change on Twitter. He even tweeted out the spot once again with a simple response.
“Corrected.”
Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and written by Adam Sztykiel, Rory Haines, and Sohrab Noshirvani, the film stars Johnson as the title character alongside Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, Quintessa Swindell, Bodhi Sabongui, and Pierce Brosnan. Only time will tell how deep they get with the crossover, but this film could be a cornerstone for the DC Film Universe.
